WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police say a man was shot after he tried to run away from another man trying to rob him.
It happened about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday North Pine Street. Officers say the victim was standing next to his car when a man approached and tried to rob him.
The victim tried to run and the robber fired several shots at him, hitting him in the ankle.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
