HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A 29-year-old Hamden man has been sentenced to just over three years in federal prison for cocaine trafficking.

The U.S. attorney’s office says Tyrell Gary, known as T-Buggy, was sentenced Monday in Hartford. He pleaded guilty in December to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Gary was one of more than 100 individuals charged in a year-long joint law enforcement operation in New Haven known as “Operation Bloodline.”

Authorities say Gary was purchasing large amounts of cocaine from Michael Smith, also known as “Smitty” and “Fingers.” A jury found Smith found guilty of multiple drug charges in January. He awaits sentencing.

Authorities say Gary has least four felony convictions, including three drug-related offenses and a 2008 robbery conviction in Maine. He’s been detained since his 2012 arrest.
