HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Nearly 250 Connecticut National Guard soldiers will be honored for their service in southwest Asia during a “welcome home” ceremony at the state armory in Hartford.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is among several elected and military officials who are scheduled to take part in the ceremony at 6 p.m. Tuesday. They’ll also be presenting two Purple Hearts and 20 Bronze Stars to the soldiers.
The troops include members of the 143rd Combat Support Battalion of Waterbury, B Company of the 104th Aviation Regiment of Windsor Locks and the 1048th Truck Company of Enfield. They completed overseas deployments since last August.
