BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a man wanted in Massachusetts for allegedly molesting his granddaughter has been arrested in northwestern Arizona.

Bullhead City police said Friday that 78-year-old John Gilbert Pike remains in Mohave County Jail in Kingman awaiting extradition.

They say a law enforcement agency in Massachusetts reported that a 13-year-old girl had been sexually abused about six years ago by her grandfather, who is a winter visitor to Bullhead City.

Pike was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of seven counts of incident assault and battery against a child under age 14.

Bullhead City police didn’t immediately know if Pike has a lawyer and didn’t have details on where in Massachusetts the alleged molestation occurred.
