HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Authorities in Hattiesburg say a man was arrested after he apparently fired a handgun accidentally in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart store.
Investigators tell WDAM-TV (https://bit.ly/1cpCjoK ) the incident happened Tuesday afternoon at the store on U.S. Highway 49.
Police say Gerrel Rhodes was sitting in his car when the gun discharged, shattering the window of his vehicle.
Officers say that while no one was injured and the shot was believed to be accidental, Rhodes was booked with discharging a weapon within city limits.
It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney.
