SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Tests have confirmed that a gun found by a Deer Park boy on his way to elementary school was the weapon used in a fatal shooting.

The Spokane County sheriff’s office says the boy found the loaded gun Jan. 23 alongside a road and tossed it to the ground at a bus stop where it was seen by an adult.

Tests at a Washington State Crime Lab confirmed that the gun was used Jan. 4 to kill 53-year-old Harry Giesbrecht. A 62-year-old suspect, Richard Klepacki, is jailed for investigation of first-degree murder.
