WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - A jury in northeastern Pennsylvania deliberated for only 30 minutes before convicting a woman of taking two children to a state prison so they could be molested by a convicted killer.
Jurors in Luzerne County on Wednesday found 42-year-old Rebecca Ann Butler of Danville guilty of multiple counts of child endangerment and conspiracy to allow indecent assault of a child.
Prosecutors said Butler brought the girls to the State Correctional Institution at Retreat numerous times for several years, starting when they were 4 and 7 years old, to visit 47-year-old Andre VanCliff. He is serving a life sentence for a Philadelphia slaying.
VanCliff is facing charges including indecent assault on a child and corruption of minors.
