Men who stole 32 guns get long prison sentences

SPRING LAKE, Mich. (AP) - A judge has ordered substantial sentences for two western Michigan men who broke into gun shops and stole 32 firearms.

Ronald Cook got a 13-year sentence, and co-defendant Joseph Sweet received a nearly 16-year sentence this week from a Grand Rapids federal judge. The men got rid of many guns in exchange for drugs.

The thefts occurred in 2013 at shops in Ottawa and Muskegon counties.

The government says information from Cook and Sweet helped federal authorities build a criminal case against the drug dealer.
