This is the era of “red, wild and blue America” says the Sportsman Channel, which will introduce new host Sarah Palin to the Hollywood press on Friday to prove its point.

Indeed, the former vice presidential hopeful will host a power breakfast at the 2014 Television Critics Assoc. winter gathering in Pasadena, California, to talk up “Amazing America,” an original TV series centered on outdoor lifestyle which debuts in April on the network.

“It’s where the American spirit and the great outdoors are celebrated in equal measure,” the channel notes, which also offers such programming as “Meat Eater”, “Addictive Fishing” and “Dog Soldier TV”.

Then there is some new insight about the former Alaska governor.

“I’m not a defender of everything she says. I don’t hear everything she says. But I know she represents a certain group of people who rose up against their own party, which you rarely see. I probably hired her back, if you really want to get to the bottom of it, to give her a chance to say her piece and piss off the people that wanted her dead.”

So said FOX News CEO Roger Ailes on why Sarah Palin remains a fixtures at his network, to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Hmmm. Funny. I accepted for the same reason,” she countered on her Facebook page in response.

Another high profile, media fueled political entity has news, meanwhile.

“Don’t tread water. Get out there and go for it,” Donald Trump recently advised his 2.4 million Twitter followers. And it appears he practices what he preaches.

The billionaire will be going for, well, something or other in the Granite State later this month, addressing an invitation only breakfast audience at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm’s College in Manchester.

“Is he running for something? President? New York governor?” the invitation asks.

Only The Donald knows for sure. Meanwhile, he’ll underscore his alliance with Republicans in a warmer climate just 10 days later. Mr. Trump will host the Republican Party of Florida at a “House Majority 2014 Golf Tournament”, naturally on his own turf.

We’re talking the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach - which includes the Trump Nine, where one signature green is located on its own little island.
