We in the media erred by reporting on Monday that Redskins rookie Durant Brooks was last in gross punting but only second-to-last in net punting. The punter behind him in net punting, Ryan Plackemeier, was cut by Seattle and replaced by Jon Ryan. In a strange twist, Ryan lost out in Green Bay to Derrick Frost, whom the Redskins cut to keep Brooks. If Brooks struggles again on Sunday against St. Louis, don’t be surprised to see Plackemeier trying out for his job on Tuesday at Redskin Park. Remember that coach Jim Zorn and Plackemeier were together in Seattle the past two seasons.
