A new study shows that household cats control their owners, LiveScience.com is reporting.
Cats can exert this control with a particular kind of high-pitched, urgent-sounding meowing that indicates they want to be fed, according to the University of Sussex study.
The meow is a purr mixed with a high-pitched cry that humans find annoying and difficult to ignore. Earlier studies have found similarities between cat cries and baby cries.
Just one more reason dogs are better than cats. If you have a dog, you have a friend. If you have a cat, you have a haughty, annoying fur ball that orders you around and looks at you as if you’re wearing a clown suit at a wedding.
Some people admire cats, saying that they’re independent and free-spirited. Hey, I don’t need a living thing in my house that ignores me and disobeys me. I’ve already got kids.
When you try to entertain a cat, it can look at you like you’re are the stupidest thing on the planet. But then it will chase a piece of string or try to catch a dot a of light on a wall. So who’s stupid now?
