Steve Rattner, whom President Obama picked to steer General Motors and Chrysler through bankruptcy, is quitting his post as an investigation into his former Wall Street firm’s dealings intensifies, the New York Times is reporting.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Rattner wants to spend more time with his family now that GM and Chrysler are emerging from bankruptcy.

It’s not clear if the investigation affected Rattner’s decision.

I guess the car czar maybe got a little scared because one of the investigators is named Bolshevik — Bolshevik Jones. It’s an old family name.

The car czar’s staff was designing a new type of hybrid two-seater that is fuel efficient and good for the environment. Unfortunately their design has already been implemented. It’s called a rickshaw.
