“Senator Cruz has boldly and courageously defended the United States Constitution and the principles of limited government our founders held dear even when it meant opposing members of his own political party,” Mr. Falwell said.

This marks Mr. Cruz’s first visit to the university.
The tea party favorite, who is thought to be considering a presidential run, follows in the footsteps of his father, Rafael Cruz, a pastor, who spoke at the convocation in November.
