Republican candidate for governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley is coming to Washington this week for a series of fundraising events.
Two of the events will be on Wednesday. The first will be a post-work event at the law firm of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. The rooftop event is scheduled to include South Carolina Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint. It will be followed by a fundraiser at the popular Capitol Hill restaurant Tortilla Coast. Massachusetts Republican Sen. Scott Brown is scheduled to attend the second event.
On Thursday, Mrs. Haley is scheduled to attend a private fundraiser sponsored in part by the Republican Indian Committee. Mrs. Haley has a double-digit lead in her race against Democratic candidate and state Sen. Vincent Sheheen.
The race is for the open seat of Republican Gov. Mark Sanford whose term limit has expired.
