Alison Krauss and Union Station canceled the remaining dates of their “Arcadia” tour after the bluegrass singer/fiddler was advised to take vocal rest.
The announcement was shared on Ms. Krauss’ social media without a medical diagnosis. The cancellation followed consultation with medical professionals and was made to ensure “a full and healthy recovery,” it said.
In a statement, the band called the decision difficult, citing its commitment to fans. But prioritizing “health and vocal integrity” is necessary at this time, the band said.
Affected shows include a stop in Davenport, Iowa, along with dates in St. Louis, San Francisco, Nashville, Austin and Las Vegas, among others.
The tour was undertaken in honor of the band’s first album “Arcadia,” which premiered 14 years ago and is described as a collection of songs offering “contemporary reflections on history.”
The album, which includes tracks from songwriters such as JD McPherson and Sarah Siskind, marked Ms. Krauss’ first release with Union Station — the band she joined as a teenager — since “Paper Airplane” in 2011.
