OPINION:
President Trump, your claims of victory over Iran are premature. Iran is still standing up to you and firing missiles at our ships, friends and allies.
Your scheme of bombing Iran to the bargaining table failed. We’ve known since World War II that bombing by itself will not get you to a victory.
Heavy bombing of Germany by Great Britain only made the Nazis stand taller and fight harder. You can see the same thing happening in Iran.

We beat Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan when we captured their capital with infantry and armor. You have yet to capture Tehran. The reason that you did not capture Tehran is that you did not put ground troops there to capture the capital.
I know what I am talking about. I served in Vietnam as an airborne infantry officer assigned as a special staff officer to an infantry brigade. I also was assigned to the S-3 operations and later to combat operations of an infantry battalion.
