AT&T customers affected by data breaches in 2024 can receive up to $7,500 in documented losses under a $177 million class-action settlement.
A federal court granted final approval for the settlement on Oct. 2. AT&T did not admit wrongdoing.
The settlement resolves two 2024 data breaches involving customer records: a March leak on the dark web of personal information such as Social Security numbers and a July leak of call and text interaction records from a third-party cloud platform.

The deadline to submit a claim was Dec. 18, 2025. New claims are no longer accepted.
Payments are due within 60 days of the settlement’s effective date, which could be as soon as November if no one appeals.
Claimants who showed proof of losses fairly traceable to the breaches could qualify for up to $5,000 for the March incident and up to $2,500 for the July incident.
Most claimants who did not document losses are estimated to receive $6.50 to $40, according to Gray News. The amount depends on how many valid claims were filed and on legal fees and administrative costs, which come out of the $177 million fund before payments.
Payments will be sent by paper check or electronic payment, depending on the option chosen when the claim was filed. Electronic payments were available only to people who filed online.
Claimants can check the status of their payments at telecomdatasettlement.com or by calling (833) 890-4930.
