Variety reported in May 2025 that the reboot would center on a diverse family with none of the original cast.

“7th Heaven” follows the Camden family and their seven children in the fictional town of Glen Oak, California, where Eric, the father, is a Protestant minister.

The show was created by Brenda Hampton and produced by Aaron Spelling, airing on The WB (later The CW) from 1996 to 2007, running 11 seasons and nearly 250 episodes.
