Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security Investigations have stopped 603 stolen vehicles from being shipped out of New Jersey’s Port Newark in fiscal 2026.

The cars were worth more than $36 million.

About 150 of the vehicles were stolen in New Jersey, with the remainder in 26 other states and the District of Columbia, along with at least one car stolen in Canada, the HSI New Jersey office said Thursday in a LinkedIn post.

Most of the stolen cars were on the higher end of the market, including Porsches worth more than $200,000 and Dodge Ram trucks worth over $90,000, according to News12 New Jersey.

Prior to being seized, the vehicles were due to be shipped overseas from the port.

Mike McCarthy, HSI New Jersey special agent in charge, said seized luxury SUVs were primarily going to West Africa, which has rougher roads, while everyday sedans were due to hit the Dominican Republic, according to News12.

“CBP’s outbound enforcement helps protect victims and stops stolen cars from fueling criminal networks abroad,” Francis Russo, CBP New York’s director of field operations, said on social media.
