President Trump on Saturday offered UFC CEO Dana White to be his new press secretary.
Mr. Trump has been without a long-term press secretary since Karoline Leavitt left the White House in August, and her replacement, Katie Zacharia, was let go last month after only five days.
The president said on social media, “I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States.

“I have requested that he bring with him assistants, even though some are not from our Country, of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris.”
He added, “We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”
It’s not clear whether Mr. White has accepted the job, although he told British reporters at a Boxing 12 event in London during the post-fight media availability, that he was “flying to Washington D.C.” immediately after the press conference to meet with Mr. Trump.
“I’ve got a lot of jobs already,” he said. “We have a meeting on Monday, so I’m sure I’ll have more to talk about after that.”
He also posted on Instagram an AI image of himself behind the White House briefing room podium with the caption: “On to the next chapter.”
Mr. Trump offered the job to Mr. White just days after Republicans were trounced in the midterm elections and several high-ranking administration officials announced their resignations.
The president also announced that Stephen Miller is replacing Susie Wiles as chief of staff.
Mr. Trump has a long history with the mixed martial arts scene, going back to at least 2001 with the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Since then, he has attended numerous UFC bouts, including the UFC Freedom 250 mixed martial arts event on the South Lawn of the White House in June.
The president has a close relationship with Mr. White, who introduced Mr. Trump at the Republican National Convention in 2024.
While attending a fight in Miami in April, Mr. Trump became the first sitting president to attend a UFC bout and participated in the walkout ordinarily reserved for athletes.
Immediately following his presidential victory two years ago, Mr. Trump attended a UFC fight in New York City, where he was given a massive ovation and shown a promotional video celebrating his electoral triumph.
