Laura Loomer was despondent in the wake of Tuesday’s Democratic devastation.

Ms. Loomer, whose social media profile is large enough that it can alter White House policy, said the drubbing was the end of the America she knew.

“America was once great. It had potential to be great. But now that ship has sailed and America is over,” she told her nearly 2 million followers on X Wednesday morning. “Keep coping though about the destruction in front of your eyes.”

For Jack Posobiec, a right-wing influencer, the results were a rejection of President Trump’s aggressiveness in foreign wars.

“Voters spoke clearly and spoke loudly. The Iran war dragged down the GOP across the map,” Mr. Posobiec said on social media. “The Ukraine war also played a role in high energy and fertilizer prices, plus perceptions of endless war. They delivered a big message: Wrap these up and focus on the American people.”

Nick Sortor, another right-wing figure, also honed in on the Iran war with his 1.6 million X followers.

He said it has become the defining issue as the GOP begins to look toward a 2028 presidential candidate — and he said that’s good news for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“Anyone involved in shamelessly pushing the Iran War is pretty much out of the running at this point,” Mr. Sortor said.

For C.J. Pearson, a Generation Z conservative activist, the GOP’s failings were attributable to a party that forgot to give them something to vote for.

“Republican voters shouldn’t feel obligated to vote Republican. They should feel excited to,” he said. “Not surprised that the base didn’t feel excited to turn out when folks in Congress couldn’t even muster the courage to pass the Save America Act.”

He was referring to legislation that would have imposed voter ID and citizenship checks. It passed the House but failed to clear a Democrat-led filibuster in the Senate.

Raquel Debono, another right-wing figure, declared the MAGA movement “officially dead.”

“Voters are sick of the corruption, the affordability crisis, sick of the reality show that is the W.H. Voters are sick of people using public office for private gain,” Ms. Debono said.

Brandon Straka, who made his name as a former liberal turned Trump backer and had warned of a GOP crack-up, said Republicans must undergo the sort of conversion he had after he voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

“The Republican Party needs to change. It’s broken. It doesn’t work. If we had been victorious tonight, we would have simply returned to the same failed system, having learned nothing,” he said.

But Jenny Beth Martin, chairwoman of the Tea Party patriots Citizens Fund, called for a steady ship.

“After yesterday’s results, conservatives need to brush off the dust and stay in the fight. President Trump is still in office. Senate Republicans still have the power of the filibuster,” she said. “We have the 2028 races coming up.  We must continue to stand for liberty and our founding principles.”
