A 16-year-old boy faces charges for a crash in Manassas, Virginia, that killed two people and injured his passenger, a 14-year-old girl.
The teen, who was not publicly named, was arrested Monday on two counts of involuntary manslaughter, one count of reckless driving by speed, one count of failure to stop at a stop sign and one count of failure to wear a seatbelt, the Prince William County Police Department said.
The teen, the police said, was driving a 2024 GMC Sierra near Leland Road and Maplewood Drive late on Oct. 24 at a high rate of speed. The police said that he blew past a stop sign and struck a 2004 Honda Civic.

The 70-year-old man driving the Honda and the 54-year-old woman riding as a passenger in the Honda died as a result of the crash, police said.
The two deceased victims have been identified as Jose De Lovo and Guadalupe Alvarez De Lovo, according to WUSA-TV.
The 14-year-old girl riding in the GMC Sierra suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Neighbors suggest a stop sign should be installed at Leland Road and Maplewood Drive to prevent future crashes.
“If there was another stop sign here, then that Honda would have stopped at that stop sign, and that car accident would have never happened,” local resident Jeremy Hall told WUSA-TV.
The teen suspect’s court date is still pending, police said.
