OPINION:
In “D.C.’s most-ticketed drivers not targeted by police, traffic officials to remove them from road” (Web, May 25) Metropolitan Police Department Sgt. Terry Thorne is quoted saying, “We do not target any individual, we target data.”
The article notes that two scofflaws, for example, have racked up violations amounting to $11,000 and $18,000, respectively, yet no targeted crackdown on those drivers has been implemented.
One question for you, Sgt. Thorne: Have you arrested and prosecuted any ”data”? I think not. Please do your job and recover the tens of thousands of dollars owed to Washington and protect law abiding drivers and pedestrians from these irresponsible, law-flouting drivers.
