Madonna has become the first female artist to land a No. 1 album across five decades with last week’s release of “Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part II,” news outlets report.
Madonna’s 10th No. 1 album, “Confessions II” is a sequel to 2005’s “Confessions on a Dance Floor.” It has topped the U.S. Billboard 200, Australia’s ARIA Charts and the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart.
It is Madonna’s first No. 1 album in the United Kingdom since 2012’s “MDNA,” tying her with Elvis Presley for fifth place all-time, according to the U.K.’s Official Charts Co.
Madonna, 67, thanked fans on Instagram for the “incredible reception” to the album.
The album features collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter, Colombian singer Feid, DJ Martin Garrix and Belgian singer Stromae, plus a duet with her daughter Lourdes “Lola” Leon.
