A car plunged into Rock Creek in the District of Columbia during a recent rainstorm.

The blue Honda sedan went into the creek near Rock Creek Parkway and P Street NW on Thursday evening, D.C. Fire and Emergency Service said on social media.

The driver, whom fire officials did not name, managed to get himself out of the car without assistance. Officials did not mention any other occupants in the car or bystanders in the area at the time of the incident.

The man then refused treatment or transportation to the hospital, fire officials said. Officials did not say whether rainy conditions or another factor caused the driver to lose control of the car.
