Rapper Nicki Minaj endorsed Rep. Byron Donalds, Florida Republican, for governor over the weekend and urged her fans to back him ahead of Tuesday’s Republican primary.

“You have my vote,” Ms. Minaj wrote in a post on X on Saturday, responding to a video in which Mr. Donalds noted that three days remained until the primary. She added that her fans, known as the “Barbz,” should support him “however you can.”

Mr. Donalds welcomed the endorsement in his own post on X, saying his supporters know a winner when they see one.

Donalds campaign press secretary Skylar Swanson told Florida’s Voice that the rapper’s support reflects confidence in the congressman, calling him “the leader who will keep Florida the best place in the nation.” Ms. Swanson also credited the momentum from President Trump’s backing and the “Barbz” joining the campaign heading into primary night.

Mr. Trump reiterated his endorsement of Mr. Donalds in May, calling him a “TOTAL WINNER.” Mr. Donalds has since built a commanding lead in the Republican primary. A James Madison Institute poll put him at 49% among likely GOP voters, well ahead of Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, former state House Speaker Paul Renner and businessman James Fishback. He is running to succeed term-limited Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Ms. Minaj, who lives in California, has grown increasingly vocal in her support for Mr. Trump and Republican causes over the past year.
