Singer Rod Stewart has canceled the next four weeks of performances on his “One Last Time” farewell tour and his “The Encore Shows” Las Vegas residency following a routine coronary stent procedure, news outlets report.
The announcement comes just days after the 81-year-old singer postponed a show at Cincinnati’s Riverbend Music Center, at the time citing a “minor medical procedure.”
Mr. Stewart also canceled his Tuesday performance at Rocket Arena in Cleveland shortly after the Cincinnati postponement.
A representative said in a statement that doctors are pleased with his recovery and that he has returned to his normal daily activities, though he will need four weeks to recuperate before returning to the stage.
“I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend,” Mr. Stewart said in a statement, adding that he was thankful for the doctors and nurses who cared for him.
The cancellations affect scheduled dates in Kansas City, Missouri; Las Vegas; Minnesota; Illinois; Colorado; and a run of shows in Mexico.
Mr. Stewart is known for hits including “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and “Maggie May.”
