Time magazine added a new cover for its Aug. 5 issue, and conservatives are angry.
Time posted another cover for that edition on X Thursday, featuring a photo showing the aftermath of the rally where former President Donald Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt.

The decision confused conservative users on X, where Time had posted an Aug. 5 cover photo on July 14. That cover featured the widely circulated shot of Mr. Trump carried away at the fateful rally with his fist raised and blood on his face.

Time magazine said that there was no change to the cover and that the outlet routinely publishes multiple covers.
“Time regularly publishes multiple covers for each print issue. Both the ‘Attack on Trump’ cover and the ‘What Unites Us’ cover are scheduled to be printed with the Aug. 5 Time magazine,” a magazine spokesperson said.
Conservatives weren’t entirely satisfied with the original cover, which ran with the tagline “former president survives shooting with nation on edge.” Some readers thought the caption should have used the word assassination.
