OPINION:
Your editorial urging the yahoos opposing Rep. Kevin McCarthy to just get on with it and elect the man anyway is typical of the Washington mentality (“Time for Republicans to unify and elect Kevin McCarthy as House speaker,” Web, Jan. 4). Just do what you have to do so that the pork can continue, most urgently, and billions can keep getting sent to Ukraine — while millions of illegals invade the United States.
Mr. McCarthy is about as conservative as the Bushes, Mitt Romney and just about every single appointee of the Trump administration. That’s why the wall was never completed, the COVID-19 vaccines were forced on a gullible America and the country is bankrupt. Pretty soon your paper will be too. We don’t need a Washington Post Lite.
