OPINION:
It is astounding that people once believed the Titanic was unsinkable, the Earth was flat and bacteria did not exist — but it is equally astounding that the Democrats in Congress can vote with sheer unanimity, no matter what lines of morality they transgress, repeatedly. It is also unfortunate that if a professor in the Ivy League raised this point to his class, he might be dressed down or even fired.
Children in school would almost rather walk on burning red coals than appear different from their classmates. Unfortunately, this is the motivation of this entire assembly.
Ethics are no longer congressional Democrats’ compass. Rather, they seek to balance their consumptive needs between their hubris and positions of power. By voting in such an alignment, they prove they are in their own political game for themselves and not the people they say they represent.
