OPINION:
President Biden is a crook — at least that’s what Rep. Dan Goldman, New York Democrat, would want us all to believe, according to Susan Ferrechio’s article (“House Democrats spin Archer’s testimony to untie Biden to deals,” Aug. 7, page 1).
According to Mr. Goldman’s spin of the Devon Archer closed testimony on July 31, Archer indicated that Joe and Hunter Biden only gave the “illusion of access.”
I have to admit, that would follow in the practice of the elder Mr. Biden these past 50 years in public office. He only gives the illusion of someone who cares, tells the truth knows what he is doing and is looking out for the citizens of the United States.
According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, “Illusions are special perceptual experiences in which information arising from ’real’ external stimuli leads to an incorrect perception, or false impression, of the object or event from which the stimulation comes.”
So the Bidens worked a scam on Burisma executives, and possibly others, to create an illusion that would lead to an incorrect perception. That incorrect perception would lead the Burisma executives to fork over millions of dollars.
Sounds like the classic movie “The Sting” to me. I believe just doing it in the United States is a crime.
It would seem that in addition to the crimes of extortion and bribery, the scam perpetrated on Burisma executives, according to Mr. Goldman, should be a prima-facie case of the Bidens’ wrongdoing.
