OPINION:
The pope’s shameful recent comments regarding American Catholics explains why so many of us are praying for a short papacy (“Pope Francis stirs fury among critical U.S. Catholics; faithful dispute ‘attitude’ problem,” web, Aug. 28).
I’m sorry, but we believe there is no room for wishy-washy interpretations of faith and morals in the Catholic Church.
I recommend that family contributions to the annual Peter’s Pence Collection be limited to $2 per family. Maybe seeing the financial impact of his unkind and thoughtless comments will have an effect on Pope Francis.
