It is a genuine pleasure to see an energetic former President Donald Trump at the podium and listen to a man who can project his voice and enunciate his words (“Trump speech divides GOP, as loyalists cheer and others fear 2024 defeat,” Web, Nov. 16). My sincere hope is that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will endorse Mr. Trump’s run for the White House and postpone his own until 2028.
If it hadn’t been for Mr. Trump’s backing, Mr. DeSantis might never have been elected in 2017. It was Mr. Trump’s magic which catapulted DeSantis to victory. It would be nice to see Mr. DeSantis return the favor. And it would be in the best interest of the GOP if these men were supportive of one another instead of at each other’s throats. The 2024 presidential campaign has officially begun.
