FedEx Field may be considered something of a dump compared to some of the NFL’s lavish new stadiums. But don’t feel too bad for Dan Snyder. When the game is over, the Washington Commanders owner heads home to some pretty fancy digs.
It was recently revealed that the billionaire bought the most expensive home ever sold in the Washington, D.C., area. According to the Washington Business Journal, Snyder spent $48 million in cash for the lavish River View Estate in October.
Snyder’s purchase was revealed through campaign finance records that show the address of the mansion in a $25,000 donation he gave to Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s inaugural committee on Jan. 7.
Dan Snyder spending 48M dollars on a property along the Potomac River doesn’t really scream “desperation” to me.

The seven-bedroom house is located on a 16.5-acre plot of land along the Potomac River. The land was formerly a part of George Washington’s Mount Vernon until 1859 and has changed hands multiple times since.
The mansion was originally listed for $60 million, per Realtor.com, and includes a home gym, spa, sauna, steam room, indoor resistance pool, game room, 15-seat movie theater and a three-bedroom, three-bathroom guest house.
