OPINION:
Amid encomiums showered on outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after her resignation are a few brickbats, all in the spirit of clean and honest political combat (the kind Mrs. Pelosi always excelled at). In the interest of brevity, here are just two: In March 2019, after antisemitic comments by a member of her caucus, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Mrs. Pelosi surrendered to the progressives in her party who simply could not condemn antisemitism without diluting the charge against Ms. Omar with anodyne comments about all discrimination. And in December 2021, Mrs. Pelosi described Joe Biden as a great president, apparently of Mount Rushmore quality.
