The Washington Commanders on Wednesday signed linebacker Jon Bostic, bringing back a veteran who spent the last three seasons in the District.
The 31-year-old inside linebacker was released by the Saints during the 53-man roster cutdown on Tuesday. Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press was first to report the signing.
Bostic spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons as a starter for the Commanders, totaling 223 tackles and four sacks. He started the first four games of the 2021 campaign before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury in early October.

The addition of Bostic came after the team released linebackers David Mayo and De’Jon Harris to make room for cornerbacks Tariq Fields-Castro and Rachad Wildgoose.
The Commanders, who ended Tuesday with just four cornerbacks on their 53-man roster, claimed Fields-Castro and Wildgoose off waivers from the 49ers and Jets, respectively. The team now has six corners and four linebackers.
