Despite ceding day-to-day operations of his football team to his wife, Tanya, Washington Football Team owner Dan Snyder was at the preseason opener Thursday against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Snyder voluntarily took a step back from the franchise after the NFL fined the team $10 million for workplace misconduct. More than 40 women said they were sexually harassed while working for the team. The league said Snyder would be less involved for “several months.”

Washington promoted Tanya Snyder to co-CEO just before the league’s announcement.

Team president Jason Wright uploaded a photo of Dan Snyder and the team’s brass on Twitter just prior to kickoff. The embattled billionaire was sporting a Washington Football Team T-shirt and a beard.

Dan Snyder is still involved in the team’s longer-term projects, such as its hunt for a new stadium and ongoing rebrand.
