Scott Baio slammed his former “Happy Days” castmates Wednesday for reuniting to participate in a virtual fundraiser happening soon in support of Democrats in Wisconsin where the sitcom was set.

Mr. Baio, who played Chachi Arcola on the series and in a spinoff, “Joanie Loves Chachi,” said he believed it is “bizarre” to be using the classic television show to support the Democratic Party.

Asked about the event during an interview on Fox Business, Mr. Baio made clear his lack of involvement while stating his case for not supporting Democratic presidential nominee Joseph R. Biden.

“Here’s what I don’t get,” Mr. Baio said. “To take a show like ‘Happy Days’ that represented traditional American values, good morals, a slice of Americana, and to use that show and those ideals to promote two people in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris that condone, encourage and foment rioting and looting, is a little bizarre to me.”

The fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, is billed as benefiting the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and can be accessed online for a minimum donation of a dollar.

Several actors who starred on the show have signed on for the reunion, including Henry Winkler, Ron Howard, Don Most, Anson Williams and Marion Ross, as well as actor Lowell Ganz, one of the show’s principal writers.

“I’m not on board, obviously, because I don’t believe in socialism and Marxism,” Mr. Baio said on Fox Business.

Mr. Baio began appearing on “Happy Days” during the show’s fifth season in 1977. He portrayed Chachi throughout the rest of the show’s run and on the spinoff until it ended in the mid-1980s.
