SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - Donald Trump Jr. told hundreds of supporters at an outdoor rally in Sparks that his father is fighting for all Nevadans, especially working-class families.
The president’s son said in a speech Tuesday evening to more than 200 mostly unmasked backers at a trucking firm that his father has produced the strongest economy in American history.
“The guy that did that once can do it again,” Trump Jr. said.
Nevada is one of the few key swing states President Donald Trump failed to carry in a tight race in 2016. Trump Jr. campaigned for Nevada’s then-GOP Sen. Dean Heller in November 2018 before Heller lost to Democratic Sen. Jacky Rosen.
Trump Jr. told KOLO-TV he made the trip to Sparks because it’s important to tell people face-to-face that the president will go to bat for them day in and day out.
“There are a lot of blue-collar working class families in this state that we’re trying to represent,” Trump Jr. said.
“My father is a fighter,” he said. “He’s going to fight for the American people. He’s going to get things done. And because he’s a fighter - everyone may not always love that - because he’s a fighter, that’s why we’re getting things done.”
