It’s usually Minshew Mania in Jacksonville. But Luton Lunacy could be on its way in quickly.
After Gardner Minshew was ruled out for the Jaguars’ game against the Texans on Sunday with a thumb injury, Jacksonville coach Doug Marrone opted to play rookie quarterback Jake Luton.
And Luton announced his presence in a big way. In his first start, and on his second passing attempt, Luton heaved the ball down field and found DJ Chark for a 73-yard touchdown. The play put Jacksonville up early.

Luton began his college career at Idaho before transferring to Oregon State for his final three seasons. Luton put up big numbers for the Beavers last year, finishing with 2,714 yards and 28 touchdowns, which led the Jaguars to select Luton in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
