- The Washington Times - Monday, May 4, 2020

The Washington Redskins won’t be headed overseas in 2020. Or any team, for that matter.

The NFL announced Monday that games outside of the United States are canceled due to coronavirus and will instead be played domestically. The league had hosted a game in London every year since 2007, with four games abroad last fall.

In all, five regular-season games that were planned to be played outside the U.S. — four in London and one in Mexico City — will take place in the U.S. instead.

The NFL said it reached its decision after talking to their teams, national and local governments.

In a statement, the NFL says it plans on returning to London and Mexico City in 2021.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were going to play two home games at Wembley Stadium in London, and the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins would host games at Tottenham’s new facility. The Arizona Cardinals were set to be the home team for the game at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
