ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - A man died and a police officer was wounded in an exchange of gunfire during the investigation of a domestic violence report in suburban Denver Tuesday night, police said.
Someone reported a domestic violence incident involving a gun just before 9 p.m. in Englewood and the suspect was found at a light rail station, Sgt. Tracy Jones said Wednesday. There was an exchange of gunfire in which the suspect, a 31-year-old man, and a police officer were wounded, he said. The man died at the hospital. The officer was in stable condition, Jones said. Other officers were also at the station when the shooting happened, he said.
The shooting is being investigated by a team of law enforcement agencies in Arapahoe County.
