Gunshots were reported Tuesday morning at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, where an individual suffered a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound.

Military police responded to the scene, ordering those on base to shelter in place. That order has since been lifted.
The individual is being treated for the injury and an investigation is ongoing, the Marines said.
