The talking fire hydrant, Rep. Jerry Nadler, recently referred to the violence in Portland as a myth (“Rep. Jerry Nadler says Antifa violence in Portland a ‘myth,’” Web, July 27). It is unbelievable that an elected official of our government can ignore not only the visual evidence, but also his oath of office to protect the U.S. Constitution and the laws of our nation, which incidentally are made by our elected officials.
This seems to be the general policy for elected Democrats: Ignore our laws, lie to the American people and put their own power and well-being above the people they serve. Supporting these politicians in this role is the mainstream media, which has lost sight of its original purpose.
We as American citizens expect our elected officials to protect and serve our interests, and we have a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We are losing these rights under the Democrats. We do not deserve Chicago, Portland or Seattle imposed on us. We don’t deserve a media that cannot tell the truth and present facts, or an educational system that has lost its way. We want our history preserved, both the good and the bad, and we want equal protection under the law.
