CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia officials are marking the start of Black History Month.
A series of monthlong events begins with a celebration Monday in the Governor’s Reception Room at the state Capitol in Charleston.
It will include a proclamation by Gov. Jim Justice, remarks by Beckley City Council member Janine Bullock and readings by Charleston poet Crystal Good.
The events are being sponsored by the Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs.
