A year ago, three of the four teams in the NFC East made a coaching change upon the end of the NFL season.
A year later, the team that originally opted to stand pat could soon shake things up.
Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson is on the hot seat as his team spirals out of control, according to the NFL Network. Heading into Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, the Eagles are 3-7-1 and have struggled mightily this season.
If Pederson is fired, it would be a stunning turn of events, given he helped win the Eagles a Super Bowl just three seasons ago. But the Eagles haven’t been right this year as quarterback Carson Wentz and the offense look broken.
The NFL Network reported Sunday that owner Jeffery Lurie is upset with the way the season has unfolded. The network added the team brass recently held a meeting to clear the air and discuss ways to get back on track.
Despite Philadelphia’s record, the Eagles still have a shot at winning the division — trailing the Giants by just a half-game.
