Just two weeks ago, the Washington Football Team was a clear favorite to make the playoffs and win the NFC East.

That’s no longer the case.

Washington is listed as a 2-point underdog for next week’s road matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to BetOnline. The team must win in order to make the postseason, but oddsmakers have Washington as a slight underdog to do so.

If Washington loses, then the winner of the Dallas Cowboys’ game against the New York Giants will clinch the division. BetOnline has the the Cowboys as 1-point favorites to beat the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Despite the Cowboys’ rocky season, Dallas is suddenly 6-9 after a dominant 37-17 win over the Eagles.

Washington is in the midst of a two-game losing streak. The team blew a chance to win the division Sunday with a 20-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The team is 6-9 on the year and holds a tiebreaker over the Cowboys, though loses one to the Giants. There is no scenario in which Washington could lose to the Eagles and still make the playoffs.

The stakes of the latter is why the NFL flexed Washington-Philadelphia to “Sunday Night Football” for an 8:20 p.m. start. The matchup will be Washington’s first primetime game of the season.
