RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) - A committee will recommend that Eastern Kentucky University regents suspend the search for a new leader and hire interim President David McFaddin.
The Presidential Search Committee announced the unanimous decision Monday.
“These last few months have been a real-world, on-the-job interview process as the university has had to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic while keeping the University moving forward,” search committee co-chairs Bryan Makinen and Jason Marion said in a statement. “We feel that he has performed extraordinarily, and possesses the visionary and strategic leadership skills that Eastern deserves in its next leader.”
McFaddin has served as interim president since January after former president Michael Benson resigned in December.
The recommendation will go to the Board of Regents at its meeting in September.
