WILKESBORO, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in North Carolina say a woman called 911 to report that she had beaten a disabled man with a baseball bat and thought he might be dead.
News outlets report 39-year-old Tabatha Renee Triplett has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of 47-year-old John Paul Robinson. The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responding to the Wednesday 911 call found Robinson dead from apparent blunt force trauma. An incident report says he had been hit in the head.
The sheriff’s office says the beating was related to a domestic dispute. The state Bureau of Investigation is assisting the sheriff’s office in the investigation.
