PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Rutgers University has given wrestling coach Scott Goodale a contract extension through the 2023-24 season.
Athletic director Pat Hobbs announced the extension Monday.
Goodale was the NCAA tournament coach of the year last season after guiding Nick Suriano and Anthony Ashnault to individual national titles. Rutgers has had 10 All-Americans in the past six years and multiple All-Americans at the last four NCAA Championships.
Goodale is the winningest coach in school history with 173 career dual victories since his appointment in 2007. The Scarlet Knights posted their first top-10 finish at the national tournament this past season. They ranked fifth nationally in attendance last season, averaging 5,038 fans.
